One Safety Video. Many Languages.
A safety message is useful only when the workforce can clearly understand it.
This week, let’s explore ElevenLabs Dubbing v2, a recently launched AI dubbing tool that can translate an existing safety video while preserving much of the original speaker’s tone, pacing and delivery. Dubbing v2 was launched in May 2026 and updated again on 22 July 2026. It currently supports more than 90 languages.
For Indian and Gulf workplaces, supported languages include Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Assamese, Urdu, Nepali and Arabic, among many others.
How can we use it in HSE?
Multilingual site-induction videos
Suppose we already have an approved induction video in English.
Step 1: Remove confidential screens, employee details and client information.
Step 2: Upload the video to ElevenLabs Dubbing or paste an authorised video link.
Step 3: Select the original and target languages.
Step 4: Generate Hindi, Tamil, Arabic or other required versions.
Step 5: Ask a competent native-language reviewer to verify technical terminology.
Step 6: Add the approved versions to the LMS or induction programme.
One approved visual sequence can serve several workforce groups without recording the entire session repeatedly. ElevenLabs accepts uploaded audio or video and supported online video links.
Toolbox-talk and safety-campaign videos
We can record one short toolbox talk covering topics such as:
Line-of-fire hazards
Heat stress
Hand safety
Lifting operations
Working at height
Permit-to-work requirements
We can then create language versions for different contractor groups while keeping the trainer’s original presentation style.
The translated version must still be reviewed carefully. Terms such as isolation, earthing, gas testing, confined space, lockout and permit suspension should never be accepted merely because the artificial voice sounds impressively confident.
Equipment and SOP walkthroughs
We can record an approved procedure showing:
Pre-use inspection → Safety precautions → Operating steps → Shutdown → Emergency response
The same video can then be dubbed for workers at different sites or from different language groups.
This is especially useful for equipment familiarisation, digital PTW systems, incident-reporting portals and LMS instructions. We should not use it to replace practical demonstration, competency assessment or supervision.
Emergency-drill learning videos
After an approved mock drill, we can prepare one reviewed learning video covering:
What happened
What worked
What caused delay
Correct muster behaviour
Communication improvements
We can dub the final learning video into the commonly understood languages of the workforce.
For emergency instructions, every translated command must be validated by a qualified human reviewer before release. An incorrect translation delivered with beautiful studio-quality audio remains incorrect.
How to try it..?
Create an ElevenLabs account.
Open the Dubbing tool.
Upload an authorised video or provide a supported link.
Select the source and target languages.
Generate the automatic dub.
Review pronunciation, terminology, timing and meaning.
Obtain HSE, document-control and language approval.
Export and publish the approved version.
Dubbing v2 currently produces an automatic result without manual editing inside the v2 workflow. ElevenLabs’ older Dubbing Studio allows more editing, but it uses the legacy v1 model and is now maintained mainly for critical fixes.
Free and paid plans
Free: US$0 per month
The Free plan currently includes:
10,000 credits each month

Starter: US$6 per month
The Starter plan currently includes:
30,000 monthly credits
Commercial licence
20 Studio projects
Instant voice cloning

Professional voice cloning
Additional credit options
Everything included in Starter
The first month is presently advertised at US$11. Higher Pro, Scale, Business and Enterprise plans are available for larger production volumes.
Prices, credits and feature limits may change, so we should verify the live pricing page before procurement.
Important HSE and data precautions
Before uploading any training video, we should:
✅ Obtain company and speaker approval
✅ Use only videos we own or are authorised to translate
✅ Remove passwords, IDs, control-room screens and confidential plant information
✅ Obtain consent before processing or reproducing someone’s voice
✅ Have every translation checked by a competent native speaker
✅ Follow the normal HSE approval and document-control process
ElevenLabs publishes certifications including SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. However, its privacy policy states that voice data may be used to improve its models and services. Optional zero-retention and regional data-residency arrangements are mainly enterprise controls, so routine free-plan use should not involve confidential company material.
A thought for our HSE fraternity
> Safety communication is not complete when we speak. It is complete when the worker understands and acts.
> Let’s use AI to make approved safety knowledge more accessible, without allowing convenience to replace competence, consent or verification. Because language should never become the barrier between a hazard and the person who needs to recognise it.
