This week, let’s explore Bricks, a freemium AI data-analysis platform that can turn an Excel, CSV, PDF or image-based data table into a dashboard containing charts, KPIs, tables and written insights. We can then refine the dashboard through plain-language instructions instead of constructing every formula and chart manually.

How can we use it?
Incident trend dashboard

Step 1: Prepare an anonymised spreadsheet containing:
Incident date
Location
Department
Incident type
Severity
Body part affected

A necessary data-safety check

Bricks is operated by The Bricks Inc., a US-based company. Its terms state that data is stored in US AWS data centres. The company says customer content is encrypted using AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.2 or higher in transit, and is not used for general or third-party AI-model training. However, uploaded content may be processed by external AI providers, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others, to provide the requested output.

Therefore, we should:

✅ Remove names, employee IDs and medical information
✅ Obtain company approval before uploading internal records
✅ Verify every figure, chart and AI-written conclusion
❌ Avoid confidential incident evidence, legal material, process-security information and client-sensitive records
